"I chose not to do the traditional college route and it has really, really paid off for me.
When I was trying to decide what I wanted to do after high school in Indiana, it was scary at the time, and I wasn't really sure if I was making the right choice. My parents told me I should go to college to get a good education. In fact, that is what a lot of people tell our generation.
What I chose to do instead was build a killer resume and build up skillsets that business owners were going to find valuable. I found a business apprenticeship program where I was basically thrown into the deep end. I had several six-month apprenticeships working at different companies getting so much different experience seeing how to be a leader and how not to be a leader.
I also worked on freelancing and building a resume with actual hands-on experience and showing the results I had been getting for companies.
I'm really glad I didn't go the traditional college route because I think I would have gone into marketing and looking back at it now I would have been social media marketing and that is not something I can see myself doing now. So, I'm really happy I didn't go that route and its really paid off.
Now I am the Client Success Manager at Creators Training. I am really passionate about what I do. It doesn’t feel like work to me and its something that fills me up."
